Photo was taken July 1944, somewhere in England.  LT Petersen and crew trained at Rapid City, S. Dakota.  SGT Netzel was transferred to Italy before the crew had their first mission.  On November 30, 1944, their plane was shot down over Merseberg, Germany.  All of the crew bailed out over Belgium and eventually were returned to their base in England.
