This is a photo of the crash site of "Pursuit of Happiness," which was shot down on 17 April 1945. The city of Precaply is Sout West of Brux/Most in the Czech republic. The "Pursuit of Happiness," (931:4N:L), flown by the Bartl crew, received a direct hit by flak and fell from the formation. The aircraft exploded at about 10,000 feet with no survivors. The crew was buried in temporary graves as shown in the photo. The crew were exhumed on 19 Aug 45 and buried at the US Military Cemetary at St Avold in Lorraine in NE France. Upon request of the families the crew were once again exhumed and returned to the US for final burial. (Radovan Helt, Czech Republic)
