Mr. Radovan Helt is a curator of a small aviation history museum in at the Most Airfield at Most, the Czech republic. He is conducting research into battles fought in the Brux/Most area. Two crews of the 486th have become the recent focus of Mr. Helt's work. The first being the Allbright crew, 835th, and the second the Bartl crew, 834th. Both crews were shot down as their squadrons wandered into the Brux/Most flak zone on 17 April 1945. The Allbright crew survived their ordeal, and were repatriated shortly after being shot down. Unfortunately, the Bartl crew never had a chance, and all 9 crewmen perished. Their bodies remain buried in the Czech republic.

Mr. Helt was responsible for the research, design, construction, and finding sponsors to erect the memorial. The association extends its deepest appreciation for his efforts to commemorate our fallen comrades.
