Ula Lume was flown by the Coy crew on 10/05/44, and was last seen with #2 prop feathered and the engine smoking. #4 was also smoking. The pilot had turned to Belgium with 2 P51s escorting. LT Robert Hall was the normal copilot, however, on this particular flight LT Haemmerle was taking his check out flight. (MACR 9529)
