BOMBING RESULTS
The 486th Group flew as the 4 C Group, and attacked the primary target, visually, in the order A-B-D-C. A-B and D squadrons bombed by squadrons, and C bombed on squadron due to bombsight failure in lead aircraft. A-B and C squadrons attacked assigned MPI, and D squadron bombed a selected MPI, a bridge at the end of the yard (099014/3) because bombardier was unable to pick up the assigned MPI thru smoke of previous bombing. Preliminary examination of S/A's obtained from all four squadrons shows good results for A and B squadrons, excellent results for D squadron and poor results for C squadron. The center of A squadrons' pattern was over and some bombs were under smoke, but part of pattern is across M/Y. The center of B's pattern is very close to the assigned MPI. Some of C squadrons bombs cannot be located by preliminary examination of S/A's. Some bombs appear in open fields about 2 miles N of MPI. D squadrons pattern is centered almost directly on the selected MPI. 3 A/C flew with 94 A squadron, bombing on squadron lead, 2 seconds late as briefed. Results unobserved.
